Changing the DVR System Password

For security we recommend changing the default password to a strong password of your own choosing.

This is done via a monitor or TV connected directly to the DVR / NVR. You will also need a mouse connected to the DVR / NVR.

Log on to the system using the unlock pattern.  (See your Welcome Email Part 2 for this information).

The images below are for the latest version of the user interface.  

1. Right-click in the centre of the screen.

2. A grey menu bar appears (see pic below).

3. Click the cog icon in the top menu bar.

4. Click User (as pictured below).

5. Click the word admin (which is the primary username for the system).

6. Click Modify.

7. Click in the text box named “confirm permission”.

8. A keyboard will appear on the screen.

9. Enter your current system password (this was supplied by email after install).

10. Follow the instructions on-screen which will guide you in adding your new password.

Make a secure note of the new password you have chosen!

Please be aware that resetting a forgotten password, whilst not impossible, can however be a lengthy process.
